The Blue Bedroom Redesign

The Blue Bedroom Redesign

This huge bedroom used to be 2 small bedrooms. Since the furniture was so large, I decided to knock down the wall separating the 2 bedrooms. Doing that opened up the space tremendously.  The wall that was knocked down contained the closets for both rooms. Because of that, I had to have a new closet framed up. There was a tight budget so I had to get carpet for the flooring…even though I HATE carpet! uuggghhhh   rhsr-blue-bedroom-before-2     rhsr-blue-bedroom-before-1   Anyhoo, I chose a neutral carpet color because I wanted to go BOLD with the wall color. The paint color winner = Behr's "Regatta Bay". This is a deep blue and it really looks good. Yellow, white and silver accent this bossy blue and also brighten up the space even more.   rhsr-blue-bedroom-3   FEATURE-rhsr-blue-bedroom-11   One of my fav's in the room are the semi-sheer window panels from JCPenny. Oh, btw, if you didn't know….JC Penny has a great selection of window panels / curtains in stock for very low prices and they also do special orders as well. I got these for $25/panel PLUS I had a coupon! When the time came around for me to start accessorizing, I was almost out of money. I had to really bargain hunt. I found some silver picture frames on clearance at Michael's for around $5/each. For artwork above the bed, I used those silver frames and I got some fabric that I found on clearance at JoAnn's and I used the fabric as art work. The space came together great!
