Living and Dining Room Redesign on a Budget

Living and Dining Room Redesign on a Budget

Recently, I redesigned my living and dining rooms. I really did not want to spend a ton of money on this project, so I decided to challenge myself and use only items that I could refurbish and/or re-purpose, instead of purchasing brand new items and paying retail price. My personal style is Contemporary/Rustic-Chic. I really like blending different styles together...mixing the old with the new. I liked my space before, but after over 5 years of starring at those green walls, it was definitely time for a change. I truly love how this project turned out. :) Below is a pic of my living and dining room BEFORE the redesign:   BEFORE REDESIGN Old dining table The sofa & arm chair were the only furniture pieces reused in this living/dining room redesign. All other furniture pieces were purchased from Craig's List or the thrift store and refurbished to fit the design style of my space.   Here are the pics AFTER the redesign: Feature-living rm DSC_0448 DSC_0395 DSC_0434 DSC_0392 DSC_0402 Riles Dining Room Redesign feature-blog buffet mirror - Coffee Table restored by: ME (table originally purchased for $10 at the thrift store) - Dining room table & chairs refurbished by: ME (dining table originally purchased on Craig's List for $60.) - Gold Bar/Liquor cabinet painted by: ME (originally purchased at the thrift store for $5) -Turquoise dresser/buffet painted by: ME (originally purchased at the thrift store for $70) - 45" x 35" wood wall mirror purchased at the thrift store for $40 (This wood mirror already had a patina or worn/weathered finish that I wanted so I did not do anything to it except give it a good cleaning.Google
