Refurbished Side Chair Using Burlap Postage Stamp FabricAug 01, 2012
While browsing through Hancock Fabrics, I found this AWESOME burlap postage stamp fabric on sale for 40% off. I just had to buy a few yards and search for something to use it on. The lucky winner was this old dining chair. For this refurb, I chose to use a semi-gloss latex paint for the chair. Hand painting furniture can be a pain in the butt sometimes, but the end result is so much better than spray paint. Once, you put the 1st coat on, you have to let it dry overnight before applying the 2nd coat. Please note that after the last coat of paint, the furniture will be dry to the touch, BUT it will take at least a week or so for the paint to completely cure. After the chair dried, I reupholstered the seat cushion and added some decorative chrome tacks around the sides. I LOVE how this turned out!
